No Baby yet!!

So, Charity and I are waiting for Baby #3 to arrive. We had a friend of ours tell us that when you start referring to your children as numbers you’ve had too many!  Charity’s due date is tomorrow and we have absolutely no action down there. It’s interesting thinking that we don’t have any family here to help us with this baby. But, we have a great church and they’ll pick up that slack for us.  Charity feels as good as she has felt the whole pregnancy but, we are definitely getting anxious. I’ll keep you posted with any further happenings.

Fasting 101

 I have realized lately, after returning from IHOP in September, that they’re is very little understanding about a fasted lifestyle. So, I wanted to make this awesome resource available to everyone. Go to the link below and you’ll find pretty much all you need to know to get started.

IHOP-KC Worship and Prayer Conference

I spent this past weekend with my dad at the IHOP-KC (International House of Prayer) worship and prayer conference in Kansas City, MO. I have been looking forward to visiting the IHOP campus for sometime now and let me tell you God did not disappoint. For those of you that are unfamiliar with IHOP, it is a 24/7 prayer movement that was started by Mike Bickle in 1999 and the prayer and worship has not stopped since! It was amazing to see upwards of 200 people, of which the average age was about 21, packed into a prayer room chasing after God! I literally felt the heaviness of the mandate that God has placed on my generation to seek after a lifestyle of prayer, fasting, and consecration. “Business as usual” will no longer satisfy. My prayer coming home is that of Psalm 132:1-5

Lord, Remember your servant David
And all his afflictions;
How he swore to the Lord,
And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:
Surely I will not go into the chamber of my house,
Or go up to the comfort of my bed;
I will not give sleep to my eyes
Or slumber to my eyelids,
Until I find a place for the Lord,
A dwelling place for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Presence or Glory?

God has really been dealing with me over the past couple of weeks on His Presence Vs. His Glory. I am reading Bob Sorge’s book: Glory, When Heaven Invades Earth. Which I highly recommend. It’s a great follow up read to Bob’s popular book Following The River.

When we as believers gather with a heart after God, His Presence is a scriptural promise. But how do we move past being satisfied with experiencing merely the presence of God and into experiencing the Glory of God.

Moses was literally standing in the presence of God and what did Moses have to say? “Show me your Glory”. He wasn’t satisfied, he wanted more. It’s a sobering fact to think that we have settled for just a fraction of what God wishes to provide in our services and in our lives.

This coming week make it a point in your service or your secret place with God, when you begin to feel the presence of God sweeping over you, not to be satisfied. Keep pressing in, saying God I must have more!

Kids are so unpredictable…

We are starting something this fall at the Christian Life on Wed. nights called Life Training Groups. It’s really exciting to see everything come together. I interviewed Charis for a video announcement trying to get some information out about the new format. I fully expected her to sit and not say a word. I should have known better!
